Roles & Permissions

To ensure operational security and maintain data integrity, Instagrocer Storefront utilizes a role-based access control (RBAC) system. By assigning specific roles, you can ensure that team members have the exact tools they need to perform their duties without exposing sensitive financial or system-wide configurations.

Understanding Access Scopes

The primary distinction between management tiers on the platform comes down to Scope of Authority:

  • Brand Level (Global): Full administrative control across the entire company network, including all digital assets, global catalogs, and financial tiers.
  • Store Level (Local): Focused operational control restricted strictly to a designated physical storefront location.

Role Definitions

1. Brand Manager (Global Admin)

Brand Managers oversee the entire digital presence of the company. Their permissions span across all locations and focus on high-level strategy, platform setup, and financial administration.

Key Responsibilities & Permissions:

  • Brand & Identity Management: Configure brand info, including logos, asset dimensions, and custom color palettes.
  • Platform & Subscription Billing: Manage subscription tiers (Standard vs. Pro) and oversee billing profiles.
  • Global Catalog & Inventory: Creation and master control of the broad catalog and core category structures.
  • Supplier Configuration: Onboard, edit, and authorize global suppliers.
  • Global Pricing & Marketing: Configure base pricing models, predictive pricing thresholds, and brand-wide promotions (offers and digital coupons).
  • Aggregated Business Intelligence: View general category trends, cross-location product performance, and global sales reports.

2. Store Manager (Location-Specific Admin)

Store Managers are the operational leads on the ground. Their permissions are restricted to the specific store storefront location they are assigned to. They cannot view or modify global brand settings or other stores’ data.

Key Responsibilities & Permissions:

  • Inbound Logistics: Receive shipments and log incoming stock from suppliers.
  • Local Inventory Maintenance: Manage real-time stock levels, update local “out-of-stock” statuses, and adjust the localized catalog display.
  • Order Fulfillment Execution: Oversee the physical order lifecycle from reception to picking, packing, and dispatch.
  • Localized Reporting: Access location-specific dashboards (Today’s sales, weekly overviews, and localized offer progress).
  • Local Event Management: Manage in-store shopping context settings and localized customer fulfillment alerts.
