Locale requirements

Use the locale column to show product descriptions in English and Swahili languages.

ColumnData TypeDescriptionExample
localetextSpecifies the language of the content provided. Each line item in the inventory file must specify the locale language.

Two records for every product are required: one in English and a second in Swahili. These enable the storefront to display content based on the customer’s preference.

For retailers doing business in Kenya:
- en_GB for English
- sw_KE for Swahili

For retailers doing business elsewhere:
- en_GB
en_GB
sw_KE

Storefront language minimum fields

To be displayed on the storefront, each product in the inventory file must include at a minimum the columns name, details, and remote_image_url in both languages. The following table illustrates the outcomes when you don’t supply the column names for both languages.
